Global Animal Transport is proud to be involved with the care of Kabang, a truly remarkable family dog who risked her own life to save two little girls from a potentially fatal accident.
In December 2011 she threw herself in the path of a motorcycle which was about to hit the little girls. She struck the motorcycle with such force that her snout and upper jaw were ripped off.
The Animal Welfare Coalition of the Philippines (AWC) and local vets have been able to keep Kabang from developing life-threatening infection but she needs reconstructive surgery.
Global Animal Transport provided handling and professional ground transport to California. She was brought to the University of California at Davis (UC Davis) Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) for facial reconstruction and then she will be sent back home in about 6-8 weeks.
